About this title
Synopsis
Marlee Auderer came home for a season and stayed four years. Her father is upright but not well, her brother is nineteen and useful, and the herd is a hundred and forty head her great-grandfather started with nine. The check comes on the eleventh of the month. It has been under the feed bill since May. Marlee is the only person in the house who opens it before dinner, and the only one who has done the arithmetic on what another year costs. She has until the spring contract to decide, and every person she loves has a different answer.
Who this is about
Marlee Auderer runs the fourth-generation Auderer dairy in her father's name while he recovers, and she is the only one at the table who reads the ledger.
What goes wrong
The processor cuts its price again, so every month the herd stays alive costs the family more than selling it would.
What's at stake
Selling the cows clears the debt and ends a hundred and ten years of the family doing this. Keeping them spends her brother's tuition and eventually the ground itself.
Why it keeps going
Every month brings another check and another vote at the kitchen table, and Marlee has to win an argument she is not certain she is right about.
Takeaway
Loyalty to a thing is not the same as loyalty to the people who built it.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
