About this title
Synopsis
Furney and Sons has buried Coldwater County for sixty-one years. There are no sons. There is Adele, who left at twenty-two, and a green ledger book in the desk drawer with two hundred and forty names in it and no dates of payment. The chain's offer is fair and their letter is kind. They will keep the name on the sign. They will not keep the book. Adele has until December, and between now and then there are eleven funerals on the calendar and every one of them is somebody she knows.
Who this is about
Adele Furney comes home to bury her father and finds the funeral home he ran is three months behind and carries half the county on credit.
What goes wrong
The only buyer is a chain that will keep the name on the sign and end the credit, and the families in the ledger are the families she grew up with.
What's at stake
Selling clears the debt and makes her a stranger in the town for good. Keeping it means collecting from people in the worst week of their lives.
Why it keeps going
Every funeral she works is another ledger line and another face she recognizes, and the offer expires at the end of the year.
Takeaway
A business built on kindness runs on somebody quietly eating the difference.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
