About this title
Synopsis
The diner on Route 9 has been dark since Cal Prentiss buried his father. He is forty-four, three months divorced, and has his daughter every other week, which is the only week he is any good at. In March he spends what is left of the settlement on new burners and opens the place at four in the afternoon, serving breakfast until midnight. Nobody in town asked for this, and he has not asked the town. He has eleven weeks of money and a twelve-year-old who comes in after school and works the register without being asked. He has not told her about the eleven weeks.
Who this is about
Cal Prentiss is forty-four, three months divorced, and has custody of his daughter every other week, which is the only part of the week he has any use for.
What goes wrong
He spends what is left of the settlement reopening his father's shuttered diner, at night, serving breakfast, in a town of nine thousand that already has one out by the interstate.
What's at stake
The money runs out in eleven weeks. If he closes, his daughter learns that a man quits, and he will have taught her that in his father's building.
Why it keeps going
Every night a different handful of people come in for reasons that have nothing to do with pancakes, and Cal has to keep the lights on long enough to find out what those reasons are.
Takeaway
A town does not know it needed a place to sit until somebody keeps one open.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
