About this title
Synopsis
Verner Lund drove a plow for the county for thirty-one years and now he floods the rink behind the Ostrander school, by hand, with a hose, most nights after ten, because if he does not do it nobody will. Six kids use it. That is the whole program, and it is one short of a real bench, and every team they play has indoor ice, a bus, private coaching and a parent who knows a scout. Ostrander has the cold. In December a program down in the Cities calls about one of the six. Not the team. One boy. The other five find out the same afternoon he does, standing on the ice, in their skates.
Who this is about
Six kids in Ostrander, Minnesota play on a sheet of outdoor ice that a retired plow driver floods by hand every night from November to the first week of March.
What goes wrong
A program in the Cities with indoor ice and paid coaching offers a spot to exactly one of them. Six kids is a team. Five kids is not. The offer expires in January.
What's at stake
Nobody from Ostrander has ever been offered anything. Telling him to go ends their season. Telling him to stay costs him the only chance any of them will get.
Why it keeps going
Each episode is one more week of the cold, one more game against a team with a bus and a locker room, and one more week nobody says the word out loud.
Takeaway
A town with nothing to give is still capable of giving somebody away, and that is the most expensive thing it owns.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
