Who it follows
John Hellbrook is a cynical lone mercenary who takes dangerous jobs for money and trusts no one. He takes a job to infiltrate APEX and steal evidence of illegal human experimentation.
What goes wrong
The infiltration goes wrong when John becomes an APEX test subject. Now he must escape not just to get paid, but to survive, forcing him to team up with APEX’s rejected experiments.
What is at stake
If they fail to escape, they will die in the experiments, while APEX will continue recruiting new test subjects who will face the same fate.
What keeps it running
Every reject is broken not only physically, but emotionally, and each has a personal reason to escape. To survive, they must turn their flaws into superpowers, become a team, and learn to trust one another.
