About this title
Synopsis
Nell Aubrey is the fourth Aubrey to keep the light at Cormorant Head. Her mother handed her the keys, the log, and a sealed tin she was told not to open until the first dark night. She opens it early. What her family has done on the first dark night of every month since 1911 is written in the log in four different hands, and so is the list of what the town got for it. The next dark night is nineteen days out. She can keep a bargain her great-grandmother made, or find out what eleven hundred people have been protected from.
Who this is about
Nell Aubrey took the light at Cormorant Head because her mother did, and her grandmother before that, and she wants one season where nothing is asked of her.
What goes wrong
She opens the sealed tin early and learns what the family has been putting in the water every month since 1911, and what stopped happening to the town when they started.
What's at stake
Ending it means the town loses whatever the bargain bought, and eleven hundred people who never agreed to it pay for a decision she makes alone.
Why it keeps going
The dark night comes every month whether she is ready or not, and each one she refuses costs the town something specific she has to stand there and watch.
Takeaway
A bargain nobody alive agreed to is still being paid by somebody, and refusing it is not free.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
