Synopsis
A walk-on is a body. Everybody involved understands this, including the walk-on. You are there so the starters have somebody to hit, and the locker they give you is at the end of the row nearest the door, because you are not expected to need it long. Danny Kovic has had that locker for two years. He made the travel roster once, for a game that was over by the third quarter, and he did not get in. In the third week of his junior year the two men ahead of him go down inside the same eleven minutes.
