Synopsis
Detective Renata Salas seizes property for a living. Boats, cars, jewelry, a lot of it never claimed. For six years a small fraction of it has moved quietly through her cousin's auction house in Port Ronce. The money does one thing. It pays for a bed, a nurse, and a window, for the partner who took a round in the throat covering her in 2017 and whose settlement ran dry two years later. Six years, two lives, no overlap. Then a federal task force opens a file on a Port Ronce auction house, and asks the coast's best property detective to help them work it. She says yes. Saying no would be the first thing anyone noticed.

Confessing costs a man in a care bed everything he has left. Continuing costs her the only clean thing she still owns, which is her own account of herself.

Each episode the two halves of her life move one room closer, and Renata keeps choosing the man who cannot ask her to, over the version of herself she used to be.
