About this title
Synopsis
The barn is a hundred and ten years old and held hay until 1994. There is a mat in it now, salvaged from a school that closed, and a wood stove that does not reach the far corner, and a single bulb. Elias Deschamps is sixteen and in there most nights until his hands stop closing. In this state the champions come from three schools, all of them four hours south, all of them with wrestling rooms and thirty partners and a bus. One of those schools has now called twice. And since November, nine kids under thirteen have started walking out to the barn after supper, because the light is on and Elias is in there.
Who this is about
Elias Deschamps is sixteen and wrestles at one hundred and thirty-eight pounds. He trains in a hay barn his uncle converted, on the edge of the reservation, in the dark, mostly alone.
What goes wrong
A program in Billings offers him a place, a bed, and a wrestling room full of partners his own size. Nine younger kids have started showing up at the barn because he is in it.
What's at stake
Nobody from this county has ever placed at state. Going gets him there. Staying means wrestling alone against boys who have thirty partners, and it means the nine keep having somewhere to go.
Why it keeps going
Each episode is one more week of the season, one more younger kid in the barn, and one more phone call from Billings that Elias has not returned. The land goes up for sale in spring.
Takeaway
A room is only a room until somebody is in it who makes other people want to come.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
