It rose in the west
by Third Coast Collective · Launched Jul 4, 2026
Past the 50-backer floor for a Pitch
Back this at one of three levels. Nothing is charged now. Pledges are only collected if the campaign reaches $1,200, which is 60% of its ask, and 50 backers, and you can change or withdraw yours until then.
You are backing a stage for perks, coins and early access. You are not buying a share of the title or any financial interest in it.
A pledge is a promise to back a campaign, not a payment and not a purchase of any financial interest. Nothing is charged unless the campaign is collected, and every campaign is approved before it opens. Full disclaimer
About this title
Synopsis
It came up in the west on the fourteenth of March, and the first official statement described it as an atmospheric phenomenon, which was true in the way that a house fire is a chemical reaction. Amira Sadiq teaches astronomy at a school with one telescope and thirty-one students. She is not the best-equipped person looking at this. She is simply the first one to sit down with a pencil and work out what it cannot possibly be. What is left, when she has finished, has a date on it.
Who this is about
Amira Sadiq teaches astronomy at a school with one telescope, and is the first person on the continent to work out what the second sun is not.
What goes wrong
Nobody with authority wants her answer, because her answer arrives with a date attached to it.
What's at stake
The date is eleven months out.
Why it keeps going
Each episode one more institution confirms her privately and contradicts her publicly.
Takeaway
A fact with a deadline attached stops being a fact and becomes a political problem.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $1,200, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
