About this title
Synopsis
The house on Cutter Road has been shut since February, and the lake has gone through a whole winter without anyone in it watching, which is the part Joan Vandermeer cannot stop thinking about. She left Bell Harbor at nineteen and told one person she was going. That person now runs the marina at the bottom of her mother's road, and has for eleven years, and lifts a hand at her truck like she never went anywhere. The closing is the day after Labor Day. She has eleven weeks to empty the place, and somewhere in the second bedroom is the letter her mother never mailed.
Who this is about
Joan Vandermeer left Bell Harbor at nineteen and has not been back in twenty-two years. She comes home in June to empty her mother's house and put it on the market.
What goes wrong
Ray Kessel runs the marina at the bottom of her mother's road. He has run it for eleven years. He never asked anybody where she went, because he already knew.
What's at stake
The closing is set for the day after Labor Day. Selling the house ends the only reason she would ever come back, and both of them know the date.
Why it keeps going
Each episode is one more week of the summer, one more box out of the house, and one more thing her mother left behind that changes what Joan thought happened.
Takeaway
A place you left is never the thing you were actually running from.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
