About this title
Synopsis
Gil Pomerantz knows which of the thirty-two lanes at Twin Pines runs a half board left, and he knows it because he was nineteen when they resurfaced it and he stayed to watch them do it. He is sixty. The building sells in April to a company that will not be keeping the lanes. The state doubles tournament comes through in February, and it will be the last thing this room is ever used for. His daughter Robin is in the pit seats on Friday night. She has not been in the building since 2014, and she has not told him why she came, and Gil bowls his first block at seven.
Who this is about
Gil Pomerantz has worked at Twin Pines Lanes in Kenosha since he was nineteen, first setting pins, then behind the counter, and for the last twenty-two years as the man who owns it.
What goes wrong
The building sells in April. The last thing it will ever host is the state doubles tournament. Gil has entered. His daughter Robin has come to watch, for the first time in twelve years.
What's at stake
He owes eleven employees their last paychecks and the tournament purse would cover it. He also owes Robin an explanation for a Saturday in 2014, and he only has this weekend.
Why it keeps going
Each episode is one more block of the tournament, one more regular saying goodbye to the building, and one more time Gil walks past the pit seats without stopping.
Takeaway
A man can give forty years to a place and still find out the place was never the thing he was keeping.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
