About this title
Synopsis
Stan Prewitt counted rifles for twenty-two years. He was good at it. He was so good at it that the Army let him count the ones it did not admit to making, in a depot outside Yuma that is not on the base map. The depot closed in March. Prewitt was retired in the same paragraph as the inventory. He has a condominium now, and a pension, and a copy of the final count that he was not supposed to keep. The count says Bay Nine was emptied and destroyed. Prewitt drove out last Sunday and stood at the fence for an hour. Bay Nine is full.
Who this is about
Warrant Officer Stan Prewitt spent twenty-two years counting things the Army says do not exist. Then the depot closed, and so, in most of the ways that matter, did he.
What goes wrong
Four hundred rifles with no serial numbers are still sitting in Bay Nine, and a man Prewitt trained is quietly selling the paperwork that says they were destroyed.
What's at stake
Taking them himself is theft and the end of a clean record. Leaving them means four hundred untraceable rifles go to whoever the paperwork says already has them.
Why it keeps going
Each episode is one bay, one count, one man he used to trust, and one more reason the Army would rather nobody found any of it.
Takeaway
A thing that was never written down cannot be lost, which is exactly why somebody takes it.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
