About this title
Synopsis
The truck had been dying for four years, so Coy Rasmussen could hardly claim to be surprised when it finished the job eighty miles from pavement, in August, in a basin the maps call the Salt Line and the locals do not call anything. In the trailer are two horses belonging to Estelle Hoyt, who lost a house, a barn and a husband in the same fire, and who has these two animals and a rented pasture in Van Horn waiting. A man on his own could walk out of here in two days. Coy has a map with a well marked on it. The map was printed in 1913, which he has decided not to dwell on.
Who this is about
Coy Rasmussen hauls horses for a living, badly, in a 1948 truck that has been dying for four years and finally got around to it eighty miles from pavement.
What goes wrong
The two horses in the trailer are all that a widow named Estelle Hoyt has left after a fire. There is a well on Coy's map, and the map was printed in 1913.
What's at stake
A man alone can walk out of that basin in two days. A man with two horses cannot, and everyone Coy has ever known would tell him to cut them loose.
Why it keeps going
Every well on the map is a promise made forty years ago by a dead man, and Coy walks to the next one anyway, because he cannot picture the conversation with Estelle Hoyt.
Takeaway
A man's word costs nothing until the day it has to be carried somewhere.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
