About this title
Synopsis
The grant is dated 1834 and it is written in Spanish, and it covers eleven thousand acres of the Texas panhandle including the only sweet well for three days in any direction. Paloma Serna runs cattle on it. Forty families work with her. The original survey has been missing from the state records since the year the state took over keeping them. Nobody has been able to explain that to her. In the fall the Cimarron Land and Cattle Company files a bill of sale for the same ground. Then it files a second one, dated earlier. Then the fence crew arrives, ahead of the judge.
Who this is about
Paloma Serna holds title to eleven thousand acres on the Salt Fork by a grant her grandfather was issued in 1834 and a survey nobody in Austin can currently locate.
What goes wrong
The Cimarron Land and Cattle Company produces a bill of sale for the same ground, then a second one, then a district judge, then a fence crew, in that order.
What's at stake
Eleven thousand acres, forty families working them, and the only sweet well between the Salt Fork and the Canadian. Losing the paper means losing the water for everybody.
Why it keeps going
The fight moves between a courthouse in Mobeetie, a surveyor's chain, and a fence line, and the company can afford to lose it repeatedly. Paloma can afford to lose it once.
Takeaway
A deed is only as good as the number of people willing to stand on it.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
