About this title
Synopsis
Gil Prewitt is eighteen months into five years of supervised release. The conditions are specific. No financial records, no credit applications, no opening mail that is not addressed to him. He has followed every one of them. Mail comes for Delia Cobb, who had the apartment before him, at a rate of about nine pieces a week. He forwards it for four months, honestly, every Tuesday. In May he opens one. Delia Cobb has been declared dead in Ohio in 2021 and in Nevada in 2023, by two different people, and Gil understands the paperwork perfectly, because building it is what he went to prison for.
Who this is about
Gil Prewitt is eighteen months into five years of federal supervised release for wire fraud, living in a one-bedroom apartment and obeying every condition attached to it.
What goes wrong
He opens one piece of mail addressed to the previous tenant, which violates his release, and learns she has been declared dead twice in two states by two different people.
What's at stake
Reporting it means admitting the violation and going back inside for three and a half years. Doing nothing means whoever built the paperwork keeps whatever Delia Cobb still has.
Why it keeps going
Every step Gil takes toward finding her is a step he cannot explain to his probation officer, and his probation officer calls on the first of every month.
Takeaway
The skill that ruined a man is usually the only one he has when somebody finally needs it.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
