About this title
Synopsis
The route out was agreed in 2019 and has never been used, which is the point of it. Four years of building a life he does not want, in a city he cannot leave, resting on one page nobody has needed to open. At two in the morning somebody four thousand miles away closes the route. There are reasons. The reasons are good and they are not about Wes. He finds out at nine, from the fact that the third signal in a row goes unanswered.
Who this is about
Wes Corrigan has run the same cover for four years and has exactly one route out, agreed in advance and never used.
What goes wrong
The route is closed and the agreement is with people who have stopped answering.
What's at stake
Four days from a border, and the only asset he has left is a woman he was never supposed to involve.
Why it keeps going
Each episode he burns one more piece of the cover it took four years to build.
Takeaway
An organization does not abandon you. It simply becomes very busy.
