About this title
Synopsis
Kettlerock, Ohio, summer of 1987. The quarry flooded in the sixties, the county stocked it with bass, and everybody in town has swum in it since they were old enough to be told not to. Danny Prewitt is fifteen and welds scrap in his uncle's shop, and in March he told a lie big enough that it is still doing damage in August. Nobody in Kettlerock is inclined to take his word for anything. So when he comes up the bank soaked and shouting about something under the water that took hold of a grown man and pulled, the town has a ready explanation, and the beach opens on Saturday.
Who this is about
Danny Prewitt is fifteen, welds scrap in his uncle's shop after school, and has already been caught lying about one thing this year, which is the whole problem.
What goes wrong
Three people go into the flooded quarry that summer and one comes out. Danny saw what took the others, and every adult in Kettlerock has a better explanation.
What's at stake
The quarry feeds the town's water. Whatever is down there has learned the shape of a person, and the county opens the swimming beach on Memorial Day.
Why it keeps going
Danny and three friends go back to the water every night with better equipment and worse odds, and every trip brings up one more piece of what the quarry is actually holding.
Takeaway
A boy who has lied once is the safest person in the world to disbelieve.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
