About this title
Synopsis
Every third October the town of Downwater carries something out to the well on the Vance place, and every third October the corn comes in. Nobody has ever needed to say those two facts in the same sentence. Della Vance left at seventeen, the year her family's turn came, and spent thirty years in cities where water arrives without an opinion. Her grandmother's death brings her back to a farmhouse, a deed, and a ledger in a hand she recognizes. October is eleven weeks out. Della has decided she will not carry anything, and the ledger has told her the cost. The well does not go without. It takes from whoever stands nearest, and hers is the farthest house.
Who this is about
Della Vance grew up in Downwater and left at seventeen, the year her family's turn came around. She has inherited the farmhouse, the deed, and the ledger her grandmother kept.
What goes wrong
She stops paying. The well has been fed for a hundred years without interruption, and the town understands, better than she does, exactly who lives closest to it now.
What's at stake
If she is wrong, the harvest fails and her neighbors bury children. If she is right, she has to make a town admit out loud what it has been doing.
Why it keeps going
Each episode is another household deciding whether to keep her secret, break the fast on its own, or carry something out to the well without telling her.
Takeaway
A debt paid quietly for a hundred years stops looking like a debt and starts looking like weather.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
