About this title
Synopsis
Marta Okonjo hauls empties. Coast to inland, twice a week, paid by the mile at the deadhead rate, forty-one payments from owning the tractor outright. The trailer out of Bay Nine sits eleven thousand pounds heavy on her own gauge. The yard manager does not look at the gauge. He hands her an envelope and mentions that the scale on Route 14 has been down since spring. She takes it. She takes it again on Thursday. By the third run the envelope is thicker, and she has begun timing how long the doors take to open when nobody thinks she is watching.
Who this is about
Marta Okonjo runs empty trailers back from the coast for the deadhead rate, with forty-one weeks left on a note that turns the truck into hers.
What goes wrong
The trailer she is told is empty weighs eleven thousand pounds over, and the yard manager who loaded it hands her a bonus envelope before she can ask about it.
What's at stake
Refusing the load ends the contract and the note with it. Taking it makes her the only name on the manifest when the scale house finally does its job.
Why it keeps going
The route runs twice a week and the envelope gets thicker each time, so every trip is one more chance to learn what she is carrying before someone decides she already knows.
Takeaway
The moment you take the envelope the load becomes yours, whatever is in it.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
