About this title
Synopsis
Nineteen years on the container cranes at Port Arcadia, and Emmanuel Boyd has learned the only skill the harbor actually pays for. He knows which boxes are never opened. He knows which men are never named. On a Tuesday shift he watches a foreman go into the water beside a refrigerated container, and he keeps his hands on the controls and finishes the lift, because that is what nineteen years teaches a man to do. Friday, an envelope with his name on it is waiting at the union hall. It is thick. It is not a question, and it is not the last one, and his daughter's second semester starts in August.
Who this is about
Emmanuel Boyd has worked the container cranes at Port Arcadia for nineteen years, long enough to know which boxes are never opened and which men are never named.
What goes wrong
On a Tuesday shift he watches a foreman get put into the water beside a reefer container, and by Friday an envelope with his name on it arrives at the union hall.
What's at stake
Taking the money buys his daughter's tuition and his own silence forever. Refusing it tells the port exactly who is willing to talk, and the port has a pier.
Why it keeps going
Every week the envelope gets thicker and the number of people who know his name gets larger, and he has to decide again what nineteen years of quiet was actually worth.
Takeaway
Silence is never purchased outright, only leased, and the landlord raises the rent.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
