About this title
Synopsis
The payroll for the Ellinger mine came up the road on a Tuesday and did not arrive. Eleven thousand dollars, most of it owed to men who were standing in the yard waiting for it. Nine of them ride out that afternoon. Two deputies, four miners, a Pinkerton on contract, a boy of fifteen who owns a horse, and one man who volunteered a little too quickly. By dark they are at the Cutthroat, which is running four feet over the ford and rising, with tracks going into it on this side and no tracks at all coming out on the other.
Who this is about
Nine men ride out of Ellinger after a stolen payroll: two deputies, four miners who were not paid, a Pinkerton, a fifteen-year-old, and a man nobody thought to ask about.
What goes wrong
The Cutthroat is running four feet over the ford and rising. They cross anyway, because the thieves crossed first, and the river keeps three men and most of the provisions.
What's at stake
Eleven thousand dollars belonging to men who dug it. On the far bank there is no road back, no supper, and six men who now have a very good reason not to share.
Why it keeps going
The chase runs north into higher country, and each day the posse is smaller, hungrier, and further from the version of itself that rode out of Ellinger.
Takeaway
Men find out what they are on the far bank, where there is nothing to go back to.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
