About this title
Synopsis
The plaque is real walnut. Dale Kovacek has checked. It says Assistant Manager of the Year, District Nine, and it arrived on a Tuesday in a box with a packing slip, which somehow made it better. By Friday his fiancee has taken the good chairs, his landlord has sold the building, and corporate has moved him to overnights to make room for a twenty-six-year-old with a tablet. Fourteen years in one store. He could call that a mistake and be forty-one and free of it by Monday. Instead he takes the plaque to work and starts looking for somewhere in the breakroom to hang it.
Who this is about
Dale Kovacek has been assistant manager at the Bergen Falls SuperSaver for fourteen years, which he has always described, to anyone who asked, as a temporary arrangement.
What goes wrong
In one week the district names him Assistant Manager of the Year, his fiancee moves out, his lease ends, and corporate quietly hands his day shift to somebody younger.
What's at stake
He can admit the fourteen years were a mistake and start over at forty-one, or he can decide the plaque is evidence and keep going.
Why it keeps going
Each episode hands Dale one more small victory that nobody else in the building would bother counting, and he counts it, out loud, at the morning huddle.
Takeaway
A man will defend the fourteen years he cannot get back harder than the ones still ahead of him.

Where your money goes
Your money goes straight to the creator to turn this pitch into a trailer. A pitch today is a poster and a logline. What the money buys is the first piece of film anyone will see.
Nothing is collected until two things are true
This campaign has to raise $300, which is 60% of its ask, and reach 50 backers. Whichever of the two happens later is the one that counts. Money without backers is one person, and backers without money is a crowd that cannot fund the thing, so a Pitch campaign needs both.
